About Us

From Our Special Family to Your Special Family

When we adopted our six children with special needs, naturally we wanted the best experiences for their development—engaging with people, connecting with nature, moving their bodies if they could, and just plain having fun.  We learned very quickly, however, that finding the right fit in caregivers for our family was a challenge.  Caregivers come and go.  Or they just don’t have a heart for those with special needs.  That is why we started Ohana Family Care in 2017.  We could hire only caregivers we felt comfortable with, who perceived their job as a mission they love, not a "mission," as in, "Dear Lord, this is such a burden!"  Soon word got out, and we found other families who wanted the same compassionate care for their treasures.  We may not be as huge as other agencies, but we like that.  And so will you and your very loved one!

Why Choose Us?

We Speak-a Your Language!

Ohana Family Care is a

family-based agency approved by the state of Colorado that is committed to providing exceptional, personalized home care services for families with children and adults with special needs. As parents of six adopted children with high needs, we understand the importance of compassionate and dedicated caregivers who treat their role as a calling, not just as a job.  Our goal is to help your loved grow to be the BEST they can be in a world where they are often misunderstood and underestimated while we foster

a nurturing environment where families feel supported and valued.

Our Core Services

Comprehensive Home Care Solutions

Explore our wide range of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of families. Whether you use experienced caregivers from Ohana or you or others in your family choose to get paid for caring for your own loved ones, we are here to help meet your needs.

Family Caregiver

If your loved one is on the Developmental Disabilities waiver, that is great news!  You or a family member can be paid to care for them.  After all, family knows your loved one best and knows how to care for them with love, sensitivity and understanding in ways that an unfamiliar hired caregiver couldn't.

Supported Community Connections

Imagine the smiles on your loved one's face when you or a caregiver takes them out to a park, a library, a coffee shop, a rodeo--anywhere that facilitates them engaging with others in the community.  Expand their horizons. Increase their development.  And let them feel like a vital part of society!

Community Connector

Though similar to the Supported Community Connections, this service is for those under eighteen.  You or a caregiver will be compensated for taking out your loved one in the community to interact with others.  What a great way to reduce any feelings of isolation and enliven their

well-being!

Respite Care

Need a break? We all need to be the best version of ourselves to ensure that we provide our loved one with optimum, loving care for the long haul.  Allow a trusted caregiver to engage with your loved one and keep them safe while you go out for a breather.

What Our Families Say About Us

Shawn H.

"Four years ago, I had to choose an agency to help us care for my 42-year-old daughter. Finding Ohana Family Care made that decision very easy. They offered the most beneficial and straightforward approach for us, and their ongoing support and personal consideration have proven
I couldn't have found a better service provider."
